Inspired by the view out my studio window and back porch comes this painting.

This piece includes part of a townhouse that many have come to call home here at Yokota AB. This view accurately depicts how tall the Sakura trees are compared to the buildings. It is a unique location and tree-lined streets.

“Welcome to the Neighborhood” aims to invite the viewer into our little pocket of the neighborhood, hidden away from the street we enjoy the falling petals while talking and sharing stories around a picnic or campfire at night.

The feeling of community is strong here and it has inspired me to make greater efforts in my own personal and community development. I hope this piece reminds you of your community and the beauty, growth, and change that come as a result of knowing and interacting with others.
